One thing that really pushes me to stay in the gym or even when I am doing a workout outdoor is the gear I wear. I mean, why would you stay out if what you are wearing is discomforting to your body? This not only affects performance but will also put you at a high risk for injury. There was a time in my life where I wore the wrong pair of shoes for a hike and I ended up spraining my ankle going down a rocky trail. It took me a good 3 to 4 months before I was able to lift again because of the pressure I would be putting my ankle on. It was quite disappointing and even when I tried focusing on my upper body, I felt the discomfort in my ankle. I learned my lesson then. I needed the right shoes for every type of workout I was doing. I learned that running shoes are not really great during a high-intensity interval workout due to sudden movements. I also learned that there are specific weight training shoes strictly for deadlifts and squats. I had no clue at the time of the importance of having the right gear. Then I came across cross training shoes which to me was the best of both worlds. I have tried running shoes and it does not go well with weight training. I have tried weight training shoes but does not go well with running. To me, cross-training shoes are by far the most comfortable pair of shoes I have had.
The catch is, shoes can get super expensive if you do not do your research. You can actually get a decent pair of shoes for a decent price. You just need to research shoes with comfortability, lightweight, and durability. You want something that will comfort you, but at the same time, something that will not cause you to work overtime. With that being said, here are my suggestions for you all.
